An individual is neither an input nor a resource like materials, machines and money. Yet, the individual is the major contributory factor to the process of social and institutional development. In a sense, organizations in society exist primarily to provide the individual with a proper context for growth and development. This actually implies increasing the availability of exercisable choices for the individual or even organizations and society as a whole
The National Institute of Motivational and Institutional Development (NIMID) was set up with the basic purpose of developing the potential of the individual as also promoting healthy institutional life in society The main aim was to accelerate the pace of development and thus create wealth with values and usher in harmonious, healthy and humanistic growth with justice for all.
Activities: Over the years NIMID, by evolving a methodology suitable for the Indian ethos, has pioneered the concept of Entrepreneurship Development particularly in backward districts. It has also conducted Trainer’s Training Programmers so as to strengthen the Entrepreneurship Development Movement in India. In doing so it has helped several small and large organizations during their establishment, growth and regeneration.
Through a large pool of associates in diverse fields, NIMID offers services in four major areas

The key to a better work performance is the overall development of an individual’s personality. While a strong foundation of technical knowledge is necessary, it is not the only criterion of success in one’s life and career.
Individuals aspiring for entry and advancement in the rapidly changing global business environment are apprehensive about the selection of their career and future prospects. They may face problems due to low self-esteem, communication difficulties, emotional turmoil and other personality-related issues. NIMID aims at making individuals aware of their own strengths through learning, experience and experimentation. It provides training to the individual to acquire the habit of positive thinking and enable him to cope with the inevitable exigencies and challenges of work and life.
The Foundation Course in Career & Life Enrichment aims at equipping graduate-students who wish to strive for a successful and dynamic career in the highly competitive and fast-changing industrial world. However, there is a growing awareness about the need to integrate vulnerable sections of society such as women, illiterates, socio-economically backward classes and the unemployed into the mainstream of society by modernizing all aspects of community life.
Towards that end, NIMID has conceived the Unnat Lokjeevan Prakalp (ULP) which aims at developing the human potential of a community through the motivation of individuals and the promotion of self-reliant and enterprising local associations. The general objectives of the ULP include:
- Improving the health-care of the community through personal and family health-care.

- Poverty alleviation through self-employment and income-generation schemes co-operative activities.
- Providing training in civic citizenship and self-government, primarily to women. The major task of the ULP is to create a better community for tomorrow. This calls for not only the re-motivation of the individual but also the re-structuring of the institutional framework and revising the community value system.
The development activities of the ULP embrace all aspects of community life: economic, societal and cultural. The effort is to convert the community into a more self-reliant, self-respecting and self-developing entity. People feel empowered when they are imbued with a greater sense of accountability and responsibility. This process will ensure sustained progress with greater momentum, resulting in a better and higher standard of living.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT
It’s has been universally recognized that individuals with a high degree of Achievement Motivation trigger the process of economic development. The thrust therefore, should be on creating a conducive environment which will not only facilitate the emergence of wealth-creators but also equip them with the wherewithal to run their productive activities in an efficient and competitive manner.
NIMID seeks to promote the growth of entrepreneurship by developing significant technologies of Behavioral Science so as to motivate individuals with potential for self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures. This is achieved through several programmers:
